Man On The Moon

Official Release Date - September 15th, 2009

The newest member of the G.O.O.D. Music family, Kid Cudi delivers a great debut album for his Motown label. This album sounds like a Kanye, Andre 3000, and Coldplay album all mashed together. Cudi showcases all of his artistic abilities (singing, rapping and writing) on this album. With play on words (such as the song "Simple As (Simple Ass)", Cudi shows that he'll be a force in hip-hop for years to come. This album is not for the club heads (only Make Her Say has club appeal), however it is for the listeners who like to lay back, relax, and play a cd the entire way through without messing up their comfortable mood.

Jay-Z - Blueprint 3

Official Release Date - September 8th, 2009

One of the most anticipated albums of 2009, Jay-Z's "Blueprint 3" blends the mature aura of "Kingdom Come" with the lyricism of "American Gangster". Whether its addressing his critics ("What We Talkin About", "On To The Next One" or paying homage ('Empire State of Mind", "A Star Is Born), Jay-Z's slick wordplay and melodic flow will keep its listeners replaying the track to catch something they missed while previously listening. Unlike the first 2 Blueprint offerings, Jay-Z invites guest to appear on his latest offering such as Rihanna, Kanye West, Swizz Beats, Young Jeezy, Pharell and newcomers Drake and J.Cole. With no factory-wrapped "club single", this album may not be appreciated by the average person who just "skims" through music or listens strickly for the production element. However, for the listeners who appreciate timeless music, this album is a must have for the collection.

Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Pt. 2

Official Release Date - September 8th, 2009

14 years after giving the world his classic debut album "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx", Raekwon the Chef has cooked up another masterpiece with the follow-up offering "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Pt. 2". Everything that you loved about Pt. 1 has been incorporated and included in Pt.2, from the hard hitting baselines in the album's production to the NY Mafiaso slick talk that made us fall in love with Raekwon during Hip Hop's golden age. The obvious difference in the 2 albums besides the new offering not being a total RZA production is the guest appearences on the album. While choosing to stay mainly withing the Wu-Tang camp the first time around, Pt. 2 showcases a number of guest appearances such as Jadakiss and Styles P (Broken Safety), Beanie Sigel (Have Mercy), Lyfe Jennings (Catalina) and the Ruler Slick Rick (We Will Rob You). If you consider yourself a fan of 90's Hip Hop (like myself), this album is a must have for your collection.
